Annual Strawberry Tea and Garden Tour

The sun is shining and the fine china is set.
     



The visitors are arriving.

 

Sun hats are appropriate today!

Sparkling Astilbe arendsii  'Diamond'

A butterfly enjoys the first fluffy yellow bloom of Centaurea macrocephala.
The leaning spikes of Delphinium frames emerging Asiatic lilies in the background.


Brilliant blooms of Gaillardia grandiflorum 'Goblin' start their show.

Shaded by a large pine, Hosta sieboldiana 'Elegans' has been spared by the deer.



The blooms of Paeonia were almost finished as those of Hemerocallis were just starting.


Early blooming daylilies, Dune Needlepoint and Handsome Prince,  are among nearly 200 other registered Henerocallis cultivars in the Tea Garden


A sculpted 'Juliette' stands in a bed of Lavender at the front steps.
Near the front door, Asiatic lily 'Latvia' shows its best form.

Annual poppies in soft mauve, salmon, and brilliant red scatter themselves around.

Buds of Asiatic lily 'Brunello' show promise of more to come.


The delicate petals of Rosa rugosa 'Robusta' float over the thorny canes.

Willie enjoys a rosy background.

American Pillar' rose tumbles over the seating area.

A lone poppy amid the Coreopsis.
